It's a sunny 91 degrees on this clear Florida day. Great for getting out for some pictures. (With bottle of ice water close at hand) I had the luck to happen upon a fun find. A used car lot with two very classic cars.
Tom Dewees of Sullivan Brothers Auto Sales Inc. was kind enough to indulge this photographer. Even giving some information and interesting tid bits on these classic rides.
The first, a 1956 Chevy, hs been repainted and restored to near original beauty. She still has the original works, frame and engine. The interior was pristine and all the chrome work polished to a shine. The paint is modern in color but reminiscent of the style.
Next was a real treat, A 1938 Oldsmobile. The body was all original with a modern deep red paint. In their day they only came in your basic black or white. The interior has been restored with some modern amenities such as seatblets, a radio, modern peddles, steering wheel and gages.
Also the interior was a valuer reminiscent of the crushed red velvet used in original models. To note there was no stick shift so they had to have installed an automatic transmission. (how's that for an observation by a girl! :) The engine has been replaced by a V6 turbo rocket engine. Can we say vroom?
Mr. Dewees said this car was one of only five, yes single digit five, left in the United States. The problem being the metals and materials used to manufacture them is no longer available or extremely limited. You may not be able to find one at all with the original motor.
The photos of both cars are below. If you would like more information on these cars or others on the lot. (Mr. Dewees receives new autos regularly) you can call Tom Dewees at Sullivan Brothers Auto Sales, Inc. 352-589-9994 or stop by the lot at 151 South Bay Street, Eustis, FL.
Special thanks to Mr. Dewees for allowing me to photograph them.
